Coming Soon! Overview
Course ObjectiveThe course is to build an understanding of the concepts of Enterprise Architecture and develop a sense of urgency for implementing those concepts in a modern enterprise. This course explores how to strategically implement Enterprise Architecture. It will look at how to bring together two apparently opposing conditions – the short term need to deliver a solution on time and within budget, and the long term adaptability requirements of the enterprise. The course examines the underlying constructs of The Zachman Framework™ and the implications of "Thinking Zachman™" to give a more balanced view of the entire enterprise. Given that architecting an Enterprise is fundamental to the ongoing success of an organization, this course has attempted to bring real world examples of what to do and not to do. The blending of consulting situations with the theory of the Zachman™ approach yields a most interesting set of practical guideposts to those working on engineering the enterprise. The course objectives are to build primitive models for every Cell of The Framework and to build the Enterprise’s implementation by (horizontal) associations, ensure alignment and transformation Quality through the (vertical) associations, define implementation phase boundaries (Enterprise Architecture planning) and use Enterprise Architecture in the day-today management and operation of the Enterprise. This is the final required component for completion of the Zachman Certified™ Target AudienceThis course is designed for enterprise professionals of every discipline including non-information disciplins as well as information disciplines. Although the course is addressing technology issue, it is not a “technical” seminar. It addresses the subjects that both enterprise professionals and information professionals must understand to operate effectively in collaboration in the Information Age environment. Further, the course is appropriate for both management and operational (technical) professionals. For management it clarifies the issues for decision purposes and enables more meaningful dialog with among the technology community. For operations, it establishes the context for developing improved approaches and implementation strategies. This course is directed at those in the management group who need to have a good understanding of the Zachman FrameworkTM in order to direct an implementation of enterprise architecture. Those with an information resource management and data administration background will find this course essential to fitting their skills into the enterprise jigsaw puzzle. Object-oriented people will find the modeling construct changes refreshing while at the same time be challenged by binding issues. Project managers on the other hand will find the same unique ideas of architecture and delivery. Business managers will find their role as fundamental to the architecture process.
